Jimtown High School Class Of 1976 - 35 Years!!!

Well - its been 35 years since I graduated in 1976 - red, white, and blue were "the" colors that year - it was a presidential election year and our country was celebrating the bicentennial - my how time flies...

We are having our reunion this coming weekend. I'm really looking forward to it. I'm especially excited to see everyone - some I have seen since graduating others not.

Facebook has been a great way to communicate with those that live near and those that live far. It was very helpful to the people trying to contact everyone for the reunion.

I will post pictures after the weekends events.

Valentine's Day Project For My 3 Beautiful Granddaughters

I've been looking at some You Tube videos and have seen these swaps using plastic bottles. They look like a lot of fun to put together. I was trying to think of a great idea for Valentine's Day for my granddaughters - looks like this will be it. I will keep you posted on the project as it progresses. I'm so excited - I'm going to make a list of items that I can fit into one of the 2 liter bottles...

I'm Addicted To Facebook!!!

Well it's been a couple of weeks now and I can safely say that I am addicted to Facebook!!! I love it...I have found some long lost friends, classmates and a special friend in Spain from SwapBot!!! I am so happy to have that reconnection...it is different than MySpace in that there is more interaction and you can actually search for people by their real names. When you find someone you can then look at their friend list and usually find more people you want to connect with...it's great...I highly suggest getting a Facebook account and see what it is all about.

New Ongoing Blog - "Kathleen's Thrifty Finds"

Tea Party Plans

Well it's time for another tea party with the girls!!! The invitation list will include my mother - Corky, my daughter-in-law Taryn, my almost sister-in-law Dawn and my three granddaughters, Casey who is 12, Shelby who is 6 and Kloey who is 3. We already had one and had such a good time we are planning another one. I have posted some pictures here of our last one so you can see what a great time we had...I think we had as much fun planning it as we did having the actual party!!! LOL!!!

At our 1st tea party we all had hats that we decorated with big bright flowers and ribbons...they turned out really cute. I bought my daughter-in-law a nice little teapot to keep as a hostess gift...she loved it!!! She used some nice teacups and saucers that she had received from her grandmother...my mother used a very special one that I had bought for her that was vintage. I also had a couple of little gifts for a couple of games that we played...one was a tea ball, and the other one was teabag holder. They really liked that I had little gifts for them that were tea themed.

I've been getting an awesome selection of bagged and loose teas from Swapbot and I love sharing them, so this is a perfect opportunity to do so.

I will be going over to their house and we will decide on the menu and make handmade invitations, place mats and place cards...they love doing crafts with G-K - that stands for Grandma Kathy...

My hope is that when they grow up they will continue with this new tradition that I am starting and that they enjoy it as much as I do!!!

Well I'm off to make my list of crafty goodies that I will need to take with me...we will make it a day and have lots of fun making plans for our "Valentine Tea Party"

Superbowl Sunday!!!

Well it's Superbowl Sunday - Go Steelers!!! I can't get too excited - my Colts aren't in it - although Peyton Manning did get picked MVP for this year!!! I will get more excited as it gets closer to kickoff...I'm really looking forward to the commercials...I've got my 3D glasses = should be interesting.

I've wanted to start a blog for quite a while now, but just never took the time to investigate how to go about it. I've read a lot of other peoples blogs and thought - well that's pretty cool...so here I am about to delve into the world of "blogging."

I will begin to add more as I further discover all that blogger has to offer...
