Wine Bottle Crafting

Ok, so when I was at one of the wineries, I saw some really cute items made out of wine bottles. I instantly fell in love with them and decided I could make them myself. I went out and purchased a bottle cutter and also a diamond plated 1/2 inch drill bit that will cut through glass. The drill bit was pretty pricey as far as drill bits are concerned.

I am going to attempt to use the bottle cutter and make some decorative pieces that sit over a tealight or a small candle. I'm going to use the drill bit to cut a hole and place a string of mini lights in there to make a way too cute lamp. Oh the possibilities...I'm pretty excited. They will look so awesome outside as I enjoy the hot summer evenings drinking a glass or two of the wines I purchased.

I will post some pictures of these projects as they progress.  If I get good enough you may very well see them in a future craft show or in your Christmas stocking.

Back In The Day

I recently had a friend request on FB from someone who I haven't heard from in a very long time. I was quite surprised to see the request as I thought I would never hear from him again.

We have been messaging each other for the past couple of evenings - catching up on each other's lives.

It's so easy to lose touch with people in your life, everyone is so busy, people move on...

It's been nice catching up...

Michigan Winery Trip

Took a 2 day trip to Michigan recently to tour some of the wineries. Went with my mom, sister and her fiance. We had an awesome time. The wineries were beautiful, in particular Karma Vista. I highly suggest you take a trip there just for the view. The winery tasting room has a large window that overlooks their land. It sits atop a hill and you can see for miles and miles. I think the couple that owns it must have been hippies in their previous life as the names of the wines are reminiscent of the 60's (Lacey - you would have loved it!). So, the name Karma Vista says it all.

We tasted a lot of wines, I myself prefer the sweet wines and especially love the "ice wines", and so brought home many bottles to enjoy throughout the summer months. I will highlight some of my favorites as they are opened in the very near future.

Cheers!!
